JAKARTA, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Indian non-seeded Srikanth Kidambi became the first Indian shuttler to get a men's singles final berth in Indonesia Open Super Series after beating South Korean seeded player Son Wan Ho in a thrilling three-game semifinal here on Saturday.

After going through several dives on his lawn to return shuttlecock placed by Son Wan Ho, Kidambi finally won the match by 21-15, 14-21, 24-22 in more than one hour.

"I am very happy now. This is quite an honor to get this far in the tournament held in Indonesia, which has strong championing history in badminton world. I feel very lucky to get this far," Kidambi told a press conference in the badminton arena located in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) here.

The 24 year-old Indian player became the only hope for India in the final round of the tournament after his MS compatriot Prannoy Haseena Sunil was defeated by Japanese player Kazumasa Sakai in an earlier semifinal clash.

The final will be held on Sunday.

Kidambi had been the champion of China Open Super Series in 2014 after defeated host country's seasoned player Lin Dan.
