CHANGCHUN, Chian, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Li Nan, coach of Chinese Men's Basketball Team Red, expressed his satisfaction with the result after his team beat Iran 72-67 here on Friday.
"We had a great start and a great ending, while there were some troubles in the middle. However, the team showed a spirit of never-give-up that I appreciated," said Li.
Chine lost Iran 60-63 on Tuesday. Li said they made some adjustment in defense, which helped the team to tonight's victory.
"Anyway we did a great job tonight, especially the two guards," added Li.
The coach also spoke highly of Zou Yuchen, who just returned from the United Ststes on Wednesday. Zou took a second team-high 12 points and also three blocks from eight minutes before he quitted the match due to injury.
"Zou's return made up our weakness in inside and helped us with both offense and defense," said Li Nan.
