TIRANA, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Albanian Ministry of Economic Development held a meeting Wednesday with the state agencies related to the sector of tourism as well as tour operators to discuss measures for the summer season.
The ministry has set up a task force on tourism which will deal with preparations for a better performance in this important sector for Albanian economy.
Ardit Collaku, head of the National Agency for Tourism, said local government authorities, organizations, central and local institutions should coordinate different events with an aim to promote tourism.
He also told reporters that many new info points were opened in a handful of tourist cities such as Vlora, Saranda, Durresi and so on.
Representatives of the State Environment Inspectorate present at the meeting said they had started inspections at all waste disposal locations.
State police have formed a group to guarantee public order in tourist areas.
