VIENNA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- An Austrian delegation concluded a three-day visit to Iran on Tuesday, having held talks there to normalize business relations following the lifting of sanctions, Austria Press Agency reported.
The delegation, including Finance Minister Hans Joerg Schelling, central bank governor Ewald Nowotny, as well as other bank representatives, had sought to normalize relations and bring bilateral trade back to the level it was prior to the sanctions.
Schelling said it is important "to be a door-opener and bridge builder for Austrian companies" and to work on bringing down present hurdles in place.
He said often initially small issues can end up having a large impact, and as such efforts in areas such as monetary transactions and customs are necessary "to bring about a positive conclusion for Austria".
The delegation met with a number of senior Iranian officials, including trade and industrial ministers, and banking leaders.
