STOCKHOLM, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Sweden on Tuesday said it will channel an additional 575 million U.S. dollars to improve services in schools, health and elder care.

In all, Sweden will invest nearly 30 billion Swedish krona (3.45 billion U.S. dollars) in these welfare services in 2018, Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson said in a press briefing.

"We will invest in a big new welfare package to strengthen schools, health care and elder care," Andersson said in a statement.

Deputy Finance Minister Per Bolund said the investment is proposed for health care to create a more accessible medical care system and to improve working conditions and make it easier for the county councils to invest in personnel.
