DHAKA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rain-triggered landslides have killed at least 20 people in three Southeastern Bangladeshi districts.

Influenced by a depression in the Bay of Bengal, rains have swept three hill districts of Chittagong, Cox's Bazaar and Bandarban since Monday, killing at least 20 people, said an official in Southeastern divisional city Chittagong.

The official who did like to be named said, "the military, police and the fire service personnel since Tuesday morning joined the rescue efforts and recovered so far 20 bodies."

Dhaka's flood forecasting center Tuesday said that the water-level in all the major rivers are rising, while some were flowing over the danger mark.

Monday's depression in the Bay of Bengal influenced all over Bangladesh and brought downpour, inundating capital Dhaka and Chittagong, some 242 km southeast of the capital city.
