OECD, AfDB expect Africa to grow faster this year and next

BERLIN, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) released latest forecasts on Monday, expecting the economy of Africa to grow faster this year and next.

During a G20 Africa summit in Berlin, the two organizations released their latest forecasts about Africa's economy.

They predicted gross domestic product (GDP) of Africa will grow by 3.4 percent this year, after a 2.2 percent growth in 2016.

For the coming year, OECD and AfDB expected Africa's economic growth will accelerate to 4.3 percent in 2018.

Besides, both organizations predicted in the forecasts that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows into Africa will surpass 57 billion dollars in 2017.
