KABUL, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police on Monday arrested the Taliban plotter of a spate of suicide attacks in Kabul, the Interior Ministry said.

"Qari Mohammad Allah, a key commander of Taliban and in charge of suicide attacks in Kabul city, was arrested in the neighboring Wardak province this morning," the ministry said in a statement.

A large quantity of arms and ammunitions, including 10 mortar mines, have been discovered from his possession, the statement added.

The arrested man has confessed to his involvement in orchestrating several suicide attacks in the capital city of Kabul, adding he was also attempting to plot another terror attack in Kabul on Monday.

Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings haven't commented.

A massive suicide truck bomb that rocked Kabul on May 31 killed more than 150 people, mostly civilians and injured more than 400 others.
