KABUL, June 10 (Xinhua) -- In order to pay tribute to the Afghans who were killed in recent terrorist attacks, the Afghanistan's government declared Saturday as a National Mourning Day, the Presidential Palace said in a statement on the same day.
Scores of people mostly civilians were killed and injured following the string of attacks in national capital Kabul, western Heart and eastern Khost provinces.
In one attack, more than 150 people were killed and over 400 wounded after a truck bomb was detonated in a diplomatic district in central Kabul on May 31. More than one dozen people went missing after the massive blast which also left millions of dollars damage.
Special praying will be held in Presidential Palace mosque and at the mosques across the country and national flag will be half-hoisted at home and Afghan diplomatic missions abroad, the statement added.
