LONDON, June 9 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister Theresa May's office announced on Friday that the top five cabinet ministers will stay in their jobs.

The list confirmed by the office include Philip Hammond continuing as Chancellor of the Exchequer, Amber Rudd continuing as Secretary of State for the Home Department, Boris Johnson continuing as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, David Davis continuing as Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, and Michael Fallon continuing as Secretary of State for Defense.

Further appointments will be added to this list as they are announced, according to May's office.

These posts were confirmed after the outcome of the general election showed that Britain has a hung parliament as no party has the 326 seats needed for an absolute majority.

Theresa May has said that she will begin to form her government, with the support of the DUP (Democratic Unionists Party).
