KABUL, June 6 (Xinhua) -- An international conference titled "Kabul Process" with the participation of 20 countries and international organizations including the United States, Russia, China, United Nations, NATO and European Union opened in Kabul on Tuesday.
Aimed at enhancing cooperation in the war on terror and boosting peace and national reconciliation process in Afghanistan, the one-day conference would back the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process to encourage Taliban militants for talks and find peaceful settlement to the lingering Afghan crisis.
Afghan government has beefed up security measures ahead of the conference and blocked all the streets leading to the venue of conference here in Kabul city.
