SAN FRANCISCO, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Two people were reportedly arrested Monday in connection with a warehouse fire late last year in Oakland, Northern California, that killed 36 people.

The two-story warehouse were named "Ghost Ship" and converted into art studios, living spaces and a party venue.

Started at an electronic music party, the blaze on the night of Dec. 2, 2016 was the most deadly fire in the history of Oakland, and the worst in California and across the United States in more than a decade.

ABC7, a TV station covering San Francisco Bay Area, said a source told the news outlet that Derick Almena, Ghost Ship's master tenant and founder, and Max Harris, its "creative director," were arrested by authorities Monday morning.

Unconfirmed media reports said the two would face involuntary manslaughter charges.
