HELSINKI, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Finnish leaders condemned the deadly attacks that took place in London late Saturday.

Finnish President Sauli Niinisto said in a written statement early Sunday that Finland will not give in or become apathetic even after several incidents. "Democracy and freedom are mightier forces than hatred", Niinisto said.

Interviewed by national broadcaster Yle, Foreign Minister Timo Soini described the incident as an attack was against "European way of life". Soini said that we "shall not be subjugated".

Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila issued a condemnation as well.

Seven people were reportedly killed after attackers drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed people in the nearby market area. British authorities have classified the incidents as terrorist attacks.
