TEHRAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Sunday strongly condemned recent deadly terrorist attacks in the UK's London, which killed at least seven people and wounded tens others.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said that the only way to get rid of terrorism is to avoid double standards and sincerely fight against the phenomenon, Tasnim news agency reported.

Qasemi offered his condolences to families of the victims of the attacks.

"Terrorism in all its forms and shapes and with any purpose and motivation is blameworthy, rejected and condemned," he was quoted as saying.

An increase in blind terrorist attacks around the world is a warning sign to the international community, he said, adding that Iran believes the only way to rid the world of "this inauspicious anomaly (terrorism)" is for all countries to honestly join hands in an international campaign against violence and extremism.

On Saturday night, a van slammed into pedestrians on London Bridge, killing six people on the spot. Three men then left the vehicle and rushed into the Borough Market, armed with knives, and launched a stabbing attack on passersby before being shot dead by police.

A seventh death was confirmed by British authorities on Sunday morning.
