22 IS militants killed in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, June 4 (Xinhua) -- A total of 22 militants loyal to the Islamic State (IS) group have been killed during operations in Achin district of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province over the past 24 hours.

Spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said Sunday that two group commanders of the armed militant outfit are among those killed.

IS insurgents who are active in Achin and a few more districts of Nangarhar province have yet to make a comment.
