An old photo taken in May 1979 shows Mei Changqing (2nd L, front) poses for a group photo with his classmates in front of library of Yichang Medical School, central China's Hubei Province. Mei Changqing is one among those who benefited from the resumption of college entrance examination in 1977. The surgeon, being a typesetter in 1976 after graduation from high school, altered his destiny by taking the college entrance exam in 1977 and was enrolled by Yichang Medical School. Having been engaged in clinical medicine for 30 years, Mei Changqing is proud of his choice. (Xinhua)
