XI'AN, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Eight people died and two were injured after a van veered off the road and plunged down a hill in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The accident happened Friday morning near Liziyuan Village in Zhenba County of Hanzhong City in southern Shaanxi. A van carrying 10 people plunged more than 100 meters down the hill, the county government said.
Five people died at the scene and three died in the hospital. Two have minor injuries.
The passengers had been hired by the driver, surnamed Wang, to help with his farm work, the government said.
