ANKARA, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Several streets of Ankara's central Kizilay district were closed Wednesday due to a fake bomb threat, local media reported.
A number of police officers were dispatched to an internet cafe on Selanik Street in Kizilay, where someone reported a suspected bomb there, daily Hurriyet reported on its website.
After the emergency alert, people in surrounding buildings were evacuated urgently, and nearby streets were closed by police.
After security check, however, the threat was subsequently revealed to be a hoax.
As a busy commercial area in central Ankara, Kizilay district was attacked twice by suicide bombs in 2016, which caused more than 60 persons killed and hundreds wounded.
