SINGAPORE, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.97 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 3,205.58.
A total of 1.13 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 612.8 million Singapore dollars (441.83 million U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 246 to 143.
The STI index lost 4.87 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 3,214.55 on Monday.
