BERLIN, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Berlin has pledged to come to a decision on whether to remove their troops from the Incirilik air base in Turkey by mid-June.

Lawmakers of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and The Left are pushing for a faster decision on the issue.

The last-minute cancellation of an official visit to Turkey after the Turkish government informed Germany that they would refuse the German delegation the access to parliament and parliamentary officials has strained the political relations of the two countries.

Niels Annen, foreign policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary opposition, told German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung on Monday "We cannot let the Turkish government continue to play games."

Dietmar Bartsch, chairperson for The Left parliamentary group, told the ARD television news channel "This army (the German Bundeswehr) is a parliamentary army and not owned by the Federal government. We will decide."

The response of the Turkish side is not available now.

Turkey has previously refused the visit of German lawmakers to the Incirlik base, where over 200 German troops were stationed as part of the military coalition against the Islamic State.

Juergen Hardt, foreign policy spokesperson for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) told dpa on Sunday "The diplomatic debate will go on for 14 subsequent days," adding "If in those 14 days Turkey sends no clear and meaningful signals concerning visit rights (for German officials), then the German government has to move the Tornado aircrafts."

"It is important to us to fulfil the mission" the German army has in the fight against the IS, CDU Secretary General Peter Tauber said Monday after a meeting of his party, warning against a rushed decision.
