Jordan "spares no effort" to relaunch peace talks between Israel, Palestine

AMMAN, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Jordan said on Sunday that it will spare no effort to relaunch peace talks between Israel and Palestine based on the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative, state-run Petra news agency reported.

The remarks were made by King Abdullah II of Jordan at a meeting with an U.S. official delegation in Amman, where the two sides explored cooperation in various areas.

They stressed keenness to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting also focused on the need for a political solution in Syria and efforts to uproot terrorism.

Also on Sunday, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met with the U.S. delegation, where Safadi stressed Jordan's continued efforts to fight terrorism.
