OSLO, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian food analysts have tested 22 dining places at the Oslo airport with new terminal extension and have not enjoyed the experience, Norway's leading newspaper Aftenposten reported Saturday.
The result was disappointing, with a lot of expensive and lousy food served, the analysts said.
According to the report, of eight eateries in domestic area, there are only two that got approved by the analysts. Several should be dropped out of the airport and some restaurants should have had a warning triangle sign, they said.
Most positive experience has been with places serving more Norwegian food on the menu, especially in the international departure hall. Here people can get fish, shellfish and salads in many bright, beautiful and airy rooms, according to Aftenposten.
At Oslo Airport, it is SSP Group that manages restaurants such as The Sea Salt, Starbucks, Seafood Bar and O'Learys restaurants. In addition, they also run Ritazza and Pizza Hut, which both received worst marks in the testing.
Morten Solberg Nilsen, CEO of SSP, told Aftenposten that he was disappointed with the testers' judgment.
"We think this is sad and we take the feedback very seriously," he said, adding that the prices are high as SSP "wants to be competitive".
"We are committed to providing 'value for money' solutions for our customers," Solberg Nilsen said, commenting that it was a pity Aftenposten testers had not experience the same.
Oslo airport opened its new terminal in April and the expansion of the airport cost 14 billion kroner (1.67 billion U.S. dollars).
Torgeir Kjos Sorensen, commercial director of Oslo airport, told Aftenposten that the food offer at the airport has now become more varied.
"All in all, we have had a broader range that will suit any wallet and every taste," he said.
"We always want the best possible feedback and think this was below what we had hoped for. However, we would like to point out that several of the reported places of service will be phased out in favor of new concepts," Kjos Sorensen said.
