SHENZHEN, May 25 (Xinhua) -- About 30 couples will be chosen nationwide to take wedding photos during a two-day free visit to China's largest Daya Bay nuclear power base, its parent firm China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) said Thursday.

The chosen couples will be photographed at the power base on August 7, the 30th anniversary of the commencement of the base's construction.

It is the first time for China's nuclear power firms to open to the public for wedding photography.

The activity is part of three months of activities at the nuclear power base open to the public, said Huang Xiaofei, spokesperson of CGN.

The activity is expected to show the base's picturesque scenery and introduce people to nuclear power, said Huang.

CGN is China's largest nuclear power operator and the largest nuclear power builder worldwide. It focuses on the development of clean energy such as nuclear power, nuclear fuel, wind and solar power.

Located in south China's Guangdong Province, the Daya Bay nuclear power base has six generation units from two nuclear power plants and can generate 45 billion kwh of electricity annually, which supplies clean power to Guangdong and Hong Kong.
