CAIRO, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday denied claims concerning Egypt's military support of armed rebels in Sudan.

Sisi said that his country sticks to its fixed policy of non-interference in other countries' domestic affairs.

"We do not and will not do this against Sudan or any other country. We only stretch our hands in cooperation, construction and development," the Egyptian president said in answer to a reporter's question during a press conference following his meeting with Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern in Cairo.

On Tuesday, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir spoke of his army's victory in recent battles with rebels in the chaotic region of Darfur in western Sudan, saying that his military seized 180 armored vehicles from the rebels "which unfortunately included Egyptian armored vehicles."

Bashir added that the armed rebels came from South Sudan and Libya in Egyptian armored vehicles, stressing that his country is facing "a big conspiracy."

However, Sisi rejected "the accusation" adding that Egypt is an honorable country that keeps its commitments toward fellow nations and neighboring states and never adopts double standard policies.

Currently under Egyptian sovereignty, the disputed border regions of Halayeb and Shalateen remain a complicated matter between Egypt and Sudan, causing a restrained tension between both neighbors, experts said.

"Any problem can be solved through constructive dialogue, but we never conspire against nor attack other states," said the Egyptian president.
