People's lives improved under poverty relief projects in SW China's Yunnan

Zhao bred more than 180 pigs here with net income of 180,000 yuan (about 26,112 U.S. dollars) last year. To aid in poverty relief and increase people's income, the village with a population of 147 people of Pumi ethnic group developed cultivation and breeding industry in recent years. Some people also went out and became migrant workers. Installation of solar street lamps and water heaters, rebuilding of roads and houses and construction of cultural activity room have been conducted.
