TOKYO, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Japan resolves to stand by Britain, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Tuesday following a blast outside Manchester Arena in Britain late Monday night.

At least 19 people were killed and more than 50 others injured so far in the attack.

"Terrorism is something we should not tolerate, for any reason, and we are resolved to fight against it," Abe said.

Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday also condemned the attack that took place just after a concert had finished at the 21,000-seater Manchester Arena.
