VLADIVOSTOK, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Eastern Military District received new multirole fighter-bombers Sukhoi Su-34, Russia's Defense Ministry reported Tuesday.
After taking off from Novosibirsk, southern Russia, the fighter-bombers flew over 3,500 km to their permanent airfield in Khabarovsk, Russia's Far East, where the headquarters of Russia's Eastern Military District is located.
The fighter-bombers will be involved in air tactical drills during the summer training period.
Based on Sukhoi Su-27, Sukhoi Su-34 is Russia's all-weather supersonic fighter-bomber, designed primarily for tactical deployment against ground and naval targets on solo and group missions.
