TOKYO, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended mixed Tuesday morning as buying on the back of solid gains on Wall Street overnight were offset by a suspected terrorist attack at a music concert in the city of Manchester in Britain.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 24.32 points, or 0.12 percent, from Monday to 19,653.96.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, edged 0.33 point, or 0.02 percent higher, to 1,567.98.

Air transportation and transportation equipment issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.

Food, fishery, agriculture and forestry issues led gainers, meanwhile.
