BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun met with Hong Kong's secretary for security Lai Tung-kwok Monday in Beijing.

Praising Hong Kong disciplinary forces' past achievements, Guo expressed hope that they would continue to implement the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law, and work hard to salute the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Lai pledged to further conduct fruitful cooperation with mainland police forces and work to maintain law and order of Hong Kong society.
