KIEV, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICIT) has decided to renew anti-dumping duties on imports of nitrogen fertilizers from Russia, the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry said on Friday.

The anti-dumping duties of 31.84 percent will apply to all producers of carbamide and carbamide-ammonia mixture, the ministry said in a statement.

The ICIT said it put in place the restrictive measures after an investigation found that Russian fertilizers were imported to Ukraine at dumping prices, affecting local fertilizer producers.

In December 2016, the ICIT had imposed the anti-dumping duties on nitrogen fertilizers from Russia, but one month later it lifted the restrictions on the request of the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry.

For years, Russia had been largest fertilizer supplier to Ukraine, accounting for between 80 percent and 90 percent of the market.

Last year, Ukraine imported 907,000 tons of nitrogen fertilizers from Russia totally worth about 162 million U.S. dollars.
