PARIS, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers died on Friday morning during a training in Marne, southeast Paris, a local newspaper reported.
According to the daily Le Parisien, two soldiers from the second infantry regiment of Nimes lost their lives following a canoe-kayak accident during their training.
For causes which remain unknown, the two victims had fallen into the Marne river. One of them floated back to the surface but he succumbed to his injuries, it said.
The second military officer's body was not found, it added.
An inquiry was opened to determine the cause of accident.
