CHICAGO, May 16 (Xinhua) -- An Amtrak train conductor was shot at the Metra station in Naperville, a town about 50 km west of Chicago, during rush hour on Tuesday afternoon, and the suspect has been in custody.

The conductor suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, a statement from Amtrak said.

The suspect, believed to be a man in his seventies, was inside the train when he shot the conductor through the window. Passengers immediately restrained the suspect for the police, local media reported.
