RABAT, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) said on Monday that it will hold an international conference on governance culture in Tunis on May 19-21.
Organized in cooperation with the Tunisian National Anti-Corruption Agency and the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the conference, themed "Governance Culture and Culture Governance in the Arab World: Realities and Challenges," is aimed at entrenching the values of good governance in cultural affairs management in Islamic countries, the Rabat-based Islamic organ said in a statement.
The conference will highlight the role of laws in promoting governance values and emphasize the responsibilities of intellectuals in addressing corrupt practices in cultural affairs management, the statement added.
The participants will also examine the role of civil society organizations in promoting a culture of good governance in the Islamic world, it said.
The conference will bring together heads of national anti-corruption bodies and experts on the subject from Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Malaysia, according to the statement.
