MOMBASA, Kenya, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Located in the southeastern corner of Mombasa city, Kenya, Fort Jesus was built by Portuguese colonists between 1593 and 1596. Fort Jesus is one of the most outstanding and well preserved examples of 16th Portuguese military fortifications and the UNESCO added the the fort to World Heritage List as a cultural site in 2011.
