China, Interpol to cooperate on security along Belt & Road

BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- China and Interpol have agreed to enhance cooperation on promoting security and stability in Interpol members that participate in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Guo Shengkun, Chinese State Councilor and Public Security Minister, on Saturday signed a declaration of strategic cooperation with Interpol on behalf of the Chinese government, ahead of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation scheduled for May 14-15.

China and Interpol will collaborate to maintain the border and trade security, crack down on illegal markets as well as financial and Internet crimes, and protect key infrastructure facilities, so as to guarantee the security and stability of Interpol members along the Belt and Road, according to the declaration.
