BELGRADE, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 84th International Agricultural Fair opened Saturday in Serbian city of Novi Sad, with latest machines on display from around 60 countries.

Opening the fair, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that agriculture is one of Serbia's biggest development potentials and that international cooperation in this area at a regional level such as that with Bosnia and Herzegovina is of extreme significance.

"Serbia as the host of this prestigious manifestation wishes to present itself as a country that implements successfully its interior reforms, that created favorable foreign investment climate and has economic potentials that make it a strong, stable and reliable partner on a regional and international level," he said.

Igor Crnadak, foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that Serbia is the biggest trading partner of his country in the region and second globally, with total exchange worth 1.5 billion euros.

The week-long fair will offer visitors the latest machines for agriculture and food processing as well as various breeds of cattle at an exhibition surfacing of 60,000 square meters.

Companies from 25 countries like China, Austria, France, Italy, and Germany will be directly present at the fair, while companies from another 35 countries will be present through local companies, according to the organizers.

Last year, agricultural machines worth 20 million euros were sold at the fair, said the organizers.
