SUVA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The Fiji Ports Corporation officers have been at the Suva Wharf, trying to clear the floating containers after a cargo ship sank there on Saturday morning.

Vajira Piyasena, Ports Corporation chief executive, said operations at the wharf remain normal.

The container ship Southern Phoenix sank at the Suva Harbor earlier on Saturday.

Officers at the wharf have been in a hard bid to contain oil spill.

Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reported that the ship was loading when turning unbalanced and tilted on one side.

No casualties have so far been reported.
