ADDIS ABABA, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopia's parliament unanimously approved on Wednesday an agreement with China on mutual extradition.

According to the agreement, extradition of nationals can be sought if the conduct indicated in the request for extradition constitutes an offence according to the laws of the two countries, Ethiopia and China.

Petros Woldesenbet, Ethiopian Parliament's Legal and Administrative Affairs Standing Committee Head, while briefing members of the House of Peoples Representatives said that the common agreement between the two partner countries on mutual extradition of nationals for an offence will help the east African country in its effort towards stability and peaceful implementation of judicial procedures.

Meanwhile, members of the Ethiopian House of Peoples Representatives, the highest legislative organ in the country, have also on the same day approved another accord made with China on comprehensive partnership that facilitates partnership in trade.

According to Petros, the approved agreement would help the two countries to capitalize their efforts in the fight against illegal trade and abolish the effect of contraband.

The agreement, which is expected to create favorable frameworks for trading and cooperation, would benefit nationals of the two countries towards better working relations, he said.
