PHNOM PENH, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to attend the special ASEAN-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting scheduled for May 4 in Washington, the Cambodian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

It will be the first meeting between foreign ministers of ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson since U.S. President Donald Trump took office in January, the statement said.

It said the meeting is expected to reaffirm the common and strong desire of both sides to further strengthen and deepen the ASEAN-U.S. dialogue that was elevated to the strategic level in November 2015.

During his stay in Washington, Sokhonn will have a bilateral meeting with U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly, the statement said.

ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
