NEW YORK, April 28 (Xinhua) -- The Pacific Tsunami Center warned Friday that hazardous tsunami waves from an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale that rocked the Philippines may trigger hazardous tsunami waves for coasts of Indonesia and the Philippines.
The powerful tremor occurred in Mindanao, the Philippines at 20:23:18 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The center said based on the preliminary earthquake parameters ... hazardous tsunamic waves are possible for coasts located within 300 KM of the earthquake epicenter.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 5.478 degrees north latitude and 125.057 degrees east longitude.
