PARIS, April 27 (Xinhua) -- An explosion hit McDonalds restaurant earlier on Thursday in Grenoble of southeast France, with no casualties reported yet, regional authorities said.
At 11:50 a.m. local time (0950 GMT) huge flames were seen coming out of the restaurant's toilet following a fire suspected to be of "criminal origin," Isere prefecture said in a statement without elaborating.
Speaking to France 3 region television, Guillaume Jsserand, the Grenoble police commander, said "a kind of incendiary bomb" was found at the site.
Bomb disposal experts rushed to the incident's scene and "carried out verifications which enabled to remove the doubt: there is no other explosive device," the prefecture added.
Investigation by the police is underway to identify the device that caused the blast, according to the statement.
