Myanmar people spend more than 2 hours per day using internet

YANGON, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar people are using internet for 2.4 hours per day in average, especially on Facebook, official media reported Thursday.

According to a survey conducted by LIRNEasia and MIDO, 60 percent of Myanmar internet users use social media while 45 percent enjoy message and internet phone services, followed by 40 percent watching online videos.

About 36 percent of the people use Facebook messenger, 36 percent Viber, 7 percent BeeTalk and 6 percent YouTube.

Meanwhile, 51 percent of users use internet for entertainment, 31 percent for information about products and services, 20 percent for surfing information and 24 percent for sharing their opinions.

About 93 percent people aged between 15 and 24 have smartphones.
