Ethiopian Airlines graduates 452 aviation professionals

ADDIS ABABA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopian Aviation Academy on Saturday graduated 452 aviation professionals at a ceremony held in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.

The graduates, 35 pilots, 110 aviation maintenance technicians, 248 cabin crew, and 59 commercial and ground service professionals, include Rwandese, Libyan and Tanzanian nationals, according to Ethiopian Airlines, which operates the academy.

Giving out diplomas to the graduates, chief operating officer of Ethiopian Airlines, Mesfin Tassew, said Ethiopian is continually striving to ensure self-sufficiency in meeting the growing skilled manpower requirement and avail competent aviation professionals throughout the continent and beyond.

The academy, which currently trains 1,500 people a year, plans to raise the number of trainees to 4,000 by 2025.
