ATHENS, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Greece's political leaders conveyed messages for progress on Sunday, as the debt-laden country celebrated the Orthodox Christian Easter.
"Let's wish that this country will make it. All of us united can keep our country standing on its feet and move forward," Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said during his visit to the island of Corfu in western Greece, according to an e-mailed statement released by his office.
From Kalamata in southern Greece, President Prokopis Pavlopoulos wished that suffering Greeks will soon pass "from the period of the crisis to the period of hope and creation," Greek national news agency AMNA reported.
The Greek president also wished that the European family will pass to "integration with focus on the people" and the world "from war to peace and safety against the threat of terrorism."
