The youth was killed near SD Colony Batamaloo in Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Police have identified him hailing from neighbouring Baramulla district and said they were investigating the circumstances that led to the killing of the young man.

Reports said the youth was killed after Indian border guards of Border Security Force (BSF) fired at Batamaloo when their vehicle came under stone pelting.

According to locals, the youth was a street vendor in Srinagar.

Last week, eight people were killed and over 200 people including government force personnel injured in the daylong clashes with government forces.
