HANOI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is aiming for no new drug hotbeds and removing 10 percent of existing ones each year, according to a drug prevention and control program by 2020 just approved by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The program targets to uncover all illegal productions and destroying all hemp plant cultivation areas by 2020, reported Vietnams state-run news agency VNA on Tuesday.

Under the program, Vietnam strives that each year some 80 percent of its drug users will access consulting and treatment services while 90 percent of detoxification facilities meet quality requirements.

To achieve these goals, Vietnam will implement preventive measures to stop drugs entering the country, and monitor legal drug-related activities closely so that pharmaceutical products containing psychotropic substances will not be misused, reported VNA.
