JAKARTA, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia hailed on Friday prestigious international recognition for its promotional video for national tourism at the 13th International Tourism Film Festival held in Bulgaria.

The three-minute video entitled Wonderful Indonesia: The Journey to a Wonderful World won the highest Grand Prix Award in the festival.

The film festival was participated by 18 countries with 91 videos submissions.

"We are very proud of it as it has successfully promoted tourism and showcased the wonder of Indonesia in global level. It deserves a great thumb-up," Indonesia Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said.

The video that showcases the moving image of picturesque sceneries in the nation's prominent destinations previously won the ministry's competition held in November last year.

Besides the Grand Prix Award, Indonesia also seized other awards for its tourism-themed videos entitled Wonderful Indonesia: A Visual Journey to Lombok and Wonderful Indonesia: A Visual Journey to Wakatobi in Nature and Ecotourism category.

"These videos were correctly fit for the soul of the festival. The beauty and the culture they showed in the video have made us want to visit Indonesia," Astari said, quoting the festival's head of jurists Irina Naydenova.

Indonesia previously won an award in the festival held last year with a video entitled Wonderful Indonesia -- West Papua.

International Tourism Film Festival is one of largest festival held in Bulgaria, served as a reference to tourism industry in Europe and has been participated by several countries across the world.
