TOKYO, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Friday morning as a positive early mood set by the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar gave exporters a boost, but sentiment was dashed by geopolitical concerns following the United States' missile strike on Syria.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 19.14 points, or 0.10 percent, from Thursday to 18,577.92. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 3.26 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,483.44.

Air transportation, precision instrument and nonferrous metal issues comprised issues that had most notably retreated into negative territory by the morning break.
