YANGON, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi has pledged to continue march with people on the road to establish a federal union with eternal peace.

Suu Kyi made the remarks in a TV speech to the nation Thursday night, marking the first one-year tenure of the government of the National League for Democracy (NLD).

Suu Kyi expressed thanks to the people for their patience and understanding of the government in its first year in office.

Relating to the achievements made by the NLD government in the past year, she said the government enacted laws that could give protection to the people while removing some laws that used to suppress the people.

She highlighted the government's increased spending on public healthcare which is improving rapidly to the extent that the world has acknowledged Myanmar's progress.

She assured that the government will start in its second year term of office to mainly concentrate on the tasks of job creation, better transportation and increased access to electric power.

She vowed to review the government ministers assigned and take actions on those who are irresponsible for the country.

With regard to Rakhine affairs, she rejected the recent resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) to send an international fact-finding mission to the country to investigate allegations of abuse by security forces in northern Rakhine state.

She said the government had done what it should do in the past year.

She maintained that the government had not misused the state fund, which is the people's fund, in the one- year period in office.

She believed that the next generation would recall the present period as a "glory period."

The NLD party, led by Aung San Suu Kyi, won a landslide victory in the 2015 general election and after it formed a government, it started to run on April 1, 2016.
