Tokyo stocks retreat in morning on concerns for U.S. business policy

TOKYO, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks retreated Thursday morning as investors awaited key economic data due to be released here tomorrow amid concerns about U.S. President Donald Trump's ability to follow throw with his business policies following troubles with his healthcare-related overhaul.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 47.56 points, or 0.25 percent, from Wednesday to 19,169.92.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, declined 4.26 points, or 0.28 percent, to 1,537.81.

Issues comprising the morning's biggest decliners comprised pulp and paper, fishery, agriculture and forestry and securities-linked stocks.
